Frequently asked questions
Does it handle emoji and non-English text?
Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8 before Base64, so emoji and every language round-trip correctly.
What is Base64URL?
A variant that replaces + and / with - and _ and drops padding, so the result is safe in URLs and file names. The decoder accepts both forms.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is an encoding that anyone can reverse. Don't use it to protect secrets.
